Overview

Score My Match (“we”, “us”) is a free, no-signup tool for scoring and sharing local sports matches. We collect as little data as possible. This policy explains what we do collect, why, and how.

Data We Collect

We do not ask for your name, email, or any personal information. We have no user accounts.

When you create a match, we store the following in our database :

Team names you enter
Match score and events (goals, wickets, cards)
A hashed version of the scoring password you set
Timestamps (created at, last updated)

This data is automatically deleted 30 days after the last score update. We have no backups. Once it expires, it is gone.

Your scoring password is stored locally in your browser's sessionStorage for the duration of your browser session only. It is never sent to us in plain text — only a one-way hash is stored on our servers.

Cookies

We do not set any first-party tracking or analytics cookies. Our hosting infrastructure may set technical cookies required for performance and security.

The viewer page displays ads served by Google AdSense. Google may set its own cookies on that page to serve personalised or contextual ads. You can manage Google's ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.

Google's use of advertising cookies is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

Advertising

Ads appear only on viewer pages (/match/[matchId]). They never appear on the scorer page or match creation page.

Google AdSense may use information about your visits to this and other websites to show relevant ads. This is governed by Google's own privacy policy, not ours.

Server Logs

Our hosting provider may retain standard server access logs — IP addresses, request paths, and timestamps — for a limited period for security and performance purposes. We do not access these logs for marketing purposes.

Children

Score My Match is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has submitted data through this service, contact us and we will delete it.

Your Rights

Because we collect no personal information tied to an identity, there is nothing to access, export, or delete on your behalf beyond the match data you created. If you want a specific match removed before its 30-day expiry, contact us with the match ID and we will delete it manually.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
