Privacy policy

When you score or follow a match. The team names, what happened in the match, and anything the scorer chooses to add, such as player names, a kickoff time, a ground or a stream link. All of it is optional beyond the team names. A match page can be read by anybody with its link, so please only add names the people involved are happy to see there.

When you sign in. Signing in is optional and uses your Google account. We receive your name, email address and profile picture, and keep the matches, clubs and series you choose to save. Your email address is never shown publicly.

Photos. Clubs can add photos to a match. Location information is removed from every photo before it is published.

Payments. Payments are handled by Razorpay. We never see your card or UPI details. We keep a record of what was bought and when.

Usage information. Like most websites, we collect technical information such as your IP address, browser, the pages you visit and whether they loaded properly. We use it to run, secure and improve the service. It never includes what you typed into a match.

Your browser remembers the matches you created or opened, the scoring password for a match you are scoring, your answers to match predictions and your cookie choice. This stays on your device. Clearing your browser data removes it, and you can clear your match list from Your matches.

• A match nobody saves: 30 days after its last update, then it is permanently deleted.
• Saved matches, club pages and series: until they are removed.
• Your account: until you ask us to delete it.
• Payment records: as long as the law requires.

We use cookies that are needed to keep you signed in and keep the site secure, and, with your permission where the law requires it, cookies that help us understand how the site is used and show ads.

Ads appear only on the pages people follow a match or series on, never on the scoring page. They are served by Google, under the Google Privacy Policy, and you can manage ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.

You can change your cookie choice at any time:

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with the service providers that help us run Score My Match, such as hosting, sign-in, payments, analytics and advertising, and only what they need to do that job. We will also share it where the law requires us to.

Many matches scored here are played by children, and we take extra care with them, especially with photos. Accounts are meant for the adults who run teams. If a child’s name or photo appears somewhere you would like it removed, email us and we will take it down.

You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, including your account or a match before it expires. Email us from the address you sign in with, or include the match code, and we will take care of it.

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be explained here clearly.
