Add managers and members to your club

On the club page, open the Settings tab and tap Get an invite link, then send it to the people who help run the team. Whoever opens it and signs in joins as a member, with nothing to approve, and a manager can make any member a manager with one tap.

Members and managers

Two roles, and only two

Everybody who helps run a club page is a member or a manager. Coach, physio, treasurer and the parent who does the kit all do the same things here, so there is no third role to choose between.

A member adds things: a team, a name on a squad, a fixture, a match. An addition is visible and undone in one tap, so nobody who helps is ever blocked from recording what happened. A manager can also rename, remove and invite, because those are the changes that are hard to take back.

One link, nothing to approve

Invite them

  1. Open Settings on the club page

Open your club page and tap Settings. The Members card lists everybody who has joined.

  2. Get the link

Tap Get an invite link and send it to the people who help run the team, in a direct message or their own group chat.

  3. They join

They open the link, sign in and tap Join the club. They are a member straight away. Nobody has to approve it.

  4. Make a manager

Beside anybody who should run the page with you, tap Make manager.

Why it works this way

Why no approval step? The link is the permission. Whoever holds it can join, so send it to the few people it is meant for, not to the whole squad, and close it when they are in.

Links and seats

Keep it tidy

Tap Close link and the invite stops working at once. Replace link swaps it for a new one, and the old one never works again, which is the fix when a link lands in the wrong chat.

Anybody can leave, and a manager can remove a member. The person who created the club can only be changed by themselves, and a club always keeps at least one manager.

A free club has a small number of seats, counted across managers and members, and the Members card says how many are used. Players never take a seat: a squad is a list of names, and joining is only for the people who run the page.

Need to know

Questions people ask

About add club members.

What can a member do?

Add things: a team, a name on a squad, a fixture or a match. Adding is visible and undone in one tap, so anybody who helps run the team can do it.

What can a manager do on top?

Rename, remove and invite. Those are the changes that are harder to undo, so they are kept to the people the club trusts with them.

Does anybody have to approve a new member?

No. The link is the permission, so whoever opens it and signs in is in. Send it to the people who run the team, not to the whole squad.

What if the link ends up in the wrong chat?

Tap Close link and it stops working at once. Tap Replace link, and the old one never works again.

Do players need to join?

No. Players belong on a squad, which is a list of names. Joining is for the people who help run the club page.
