Scoreboard overlays for Twitch and Facebook Live

Add the match’s overlay link to OBS as a Browser Source, then stream from OBS to Twitch or Facebook Live with that platform’s stream key. The overlay is a web page, so it behaves the same whichever platform the stream goes to.

Falcons win with a ball to spare

The real stream overlay, playing a scripted match over a drawn picture of the ground.

5 steps

In short

  1. Add the overlay to OBSOn the Stream tab, tap Get the stream link and add it to OBS as a Browser Source.
  2. Get the stream keyCopy it from Twitch's creator dashboard, or from a Facebook live video set to streaming software.
  3. Paste it and go liveIn OBS settings, choose the platform under Stream, paste the key and start streaming.
  4. Link the streamPaste each platform's link under Stream links, so people following the score can watch too.
  5. Copy the title and descriptionCopy both from Stream title and description into the stream. Both are free.
It is a web page

The same overlay everywhere

The scoreboard overlay is a web page with a transparent background that updates as the match is scored. Streaming software shows it on top of the camera, and then sends the result to whichever platform you choose. So the overlay setup is the same for Twitch, Facebook Live and YouTube; only the stream key differs.

The overlay is part of Pro for a club, or a match pass for one match.

OBS

Set it up

  1. Add the overlay to OBS

On the scoring page, open Stream, tap Get the stream link and add it to OBS as a Browser Source. The YouTube overlay guide has this step in detail.

  2. Get the stream key

On Twitch, copy the stream key from your creator dashboard. On Facebook, create a live video, choose streaming software, and copy the key it gives you.

  3. Paste it into OBS and go live

In OBS settings, choose the platform under Stream, paste the key and start streaming.

  4. Link the stream on the match page

On the Stream tab, paste the stream's link under Stream links, one for each platform you stream to, so people following the score can watch too. Then copy the title and description from Stream title and description, on the same tab, into the stream. Both are free.

Watch links on the moments, which open a goal or a wicket in the recording, work with a YouTube stream only for now. Twitch keeps its recordings somewhere else from the live channel, and Facebook's links to a time in a video are not reliable enough to promise a moment with.

Questions people ask

About twitch and facebook overlays.

Is the setup different for Twitch?

Only the stream key. Copy it from your Twitch creator dashboard into OBS; the overlay does not change.

And Facebook Live?

Choose streaming software when you create the live video, and paste its stream key into OBS.

Can I stream to both at once?

That is a feature of your streaming tool, not of the overlay. The overlay shows the same score wherever the stream goes.
