Team colours and why they are on by default

Every match gets two different team colours when it is created, so viewers tell the sides apart at a glance on the score, the timeline and the reel. Change either on the create form, or choose None, and no two teams can ever share a colour.

Picked for you

On by default

A team's colour is how a viewer tells the two sides apart at a glance: on the score, along the timeline and in the reel. That payoff lands on pages the scorer never goes back to set up, so every match starts with two colours already picked, different from each other. Nobody has to spend a tap on them.

On the create form

Change them, or turn them off

  1. Open the colour

On the create form, each team shows its colour beside its name. Tap it to open the palette.

  2. Pick one, or None

There are fourteen colours, including black and white, chosen from what local kit and bibs actually look like. A colour the other team holds is not offered. Choose None for no colour at all.

Need to know

Questions people ask

About team colours.

Why are colours on without asking?

The payoff is on the viewer page and in the reel, which is exactly where nobody goes back to set them. So they are picked for you, different from each other, and turning them off is one tap.

Can I pick an exact shade?

No. There are fourteen colours covering the kits and bibs local teams actually wear, black and white included. A free picker is fiddly with a thumb and makes pairs nobody can tell apart.

Can both teams wear the same colour?

No. A colour one team holds is not offered to the other.

What about colour-blind viewers?

A colour always sits beside the team’s name and never replaces it, and it never marks a goal, a card or a wicket.
